Round Steak-Swiss Steak

This is a very easy recipe


Fresh pieces of Round Steak, butter, salt, Pepper and water.


Start with the required amount of round steak. Each piece usually measures 5×4”

In a large skillet melt 2 tablespoons butter, season meat with salt and pepper and add the meat 2-3 pieces at a time and blacken both sides or at least until they are dark brown. This might create excessive smoke so make sure you have your range hood on.

Do this to all the pieces of meat.

Now transfer the steak pieces into a larger pot and add water until the meat is covered.
Bring to a boil then turn down to a simmer
Simmer for 21/2 hours
The steak will come apart like flaked tuna.
Serve portioned steak pieces with your favorite vegetable and potatoes.
Use the broth from the pot as your gravy
